1989 MUJI depend on SEIYU.

Now MUJI store are Europe, Asia and in the MOMA
They make shop fashionable place. Each country have characteristic. They make goods to adapt to place.
(For example I watch Hole Punch in MUJI Online.co.uk. There are 2tipe designs.
The one is same goods Japan. But the other doesn’t watched Japan. Probably that designed UK designer. MUJI products take roof in place.)

Philosophy
So I think MUJI philosophy deep-rooted in the Japanese culture as Sadou.
Make use of material, Simple, reasonable price goods made as think environment and energy problem, making new.
They concept is “simple and useful”.
They research thoroughly consumer by their net community in their site “muji.net”.
So their product develops for consumer voice.
(For example “fit of body sofa” have sold over one billion yen.
That is to think best material and process for product shape and to aim to do best design.)
(They think always basic and universal.)
Designer
They don’t publish designer name. The reason is they consider about brand. They think designer name doesn’t need.
But they have famous art director and adviser.
Their name is Kenya Hara, Naoto Fukasawa, and Youji Yamamoto. And MUJI request abroad designer design MUJI product: Enzo Mari, Sam Hecht, Azumi, Konstantin Grcic, Jasper Morrison.
About color
And MUJI use natural color. MUJI material color is basic.
Because MUJI want to important basic substance color and shape. And not decorate.
Actually I use MUJI goods
For example notebook, pen, time watch, under wear, etc
There are so useful. If I want to decollate something, MUJI goods is easy to decollate.
The reason is MUJI goods are simple.

Japanese designers are getting famous in all over the world. Rei Kawakubo is one of them. She is a one of fashion designer of Comme des Garcons. 
Her design is very unique. Some of them has big holes and feared. In 1983, She proposed some unfinished clothes. Its estimation was separated. Some people said they were very important and value. But, some people were shocked, and said, “Swiss cheese sweaters.” The whole idea that there could be beauty in unfinished very extra ordinary. But she didn’t care about it. She never be content making clothes everyone else finds beautiful. Insted, she thought, “why don’t you know (how they are beautiful)?” 
And now, she could make people understand that clothes do not have to be completely finished and that could be beautiful when it is made to look old material. And she is at center of today’s designer. Many designers and artists have been influence by her, it is like Chanel used to de
